Powers:
Jocasta possesses several superhuman capacities due to her robotic
nature. Her outer skin was made of titanium steel, making her
impervious to all projectiles up to light anti-tank armor-piercing
shells, to temperatures up to the melting point of steel, and to
pressures up to 10 Earth atmospheres. As a non-living machine, she
did not need to eat, breathe, or sleep. The mechanisms that mimicked
human musculature were superior to organic tissue, providing her
with superhuman strength.
Jocasta could mimic many human functions, including locomotor and
axial movement, speech, and independent thought. She possessed
optical and aural sensors surpassing the slight and hearing capacity
of the average human being. She also had a special cybernetic
sensory system, enabling her to perceive minute electromagnetic
particles and identify their source. The extent of this capacity is
not known.\n\nJocasta was able to project beeams of some as yet
unidentified electromagnetic energy from her optical sensors. The
specifications of this ability are also not known. Designed by
Ultron, Jocasts probably shared many of her builder's
specifications.
History:
Jocasta was built by Ultron to become his perfect mate. Since he
considered Henry Pym to be his "father", he used the brainwave
patterns of the Wasp as the basis for Jocasta's mind. Ultron used a
hypnotic suggestion to control Pym into helping him make the
transfer. Henry Pym donned his Ant-Man costume and believed the
Avengers to be enemies. However, in the end, it was an
also-hypnotized Iron Man who ended up capturing the Wasp for the
transfer. The Avengers rescued the Wasp and Jocasta was left in a
warehouse, believed to never have been activated.
Later Jocasta showed up at the Mansion, and was accepted by the
Avengers since she clearly stood against Ultron in their last
encounter. She stayed with the team for a while, but believed that
they would never truly accept her, and she left.
Later, Jocasta herself was hypnotised by Ultron into reassembling
his body, which she did. She joined forces with X-51, the Machine
Man, to defeat Ultron, and Jocasta sacrificed her life to stop him.
X-51, who had fallen in love with Jocasta, vowed to find a way to
bring her back from death, but was never successful.
Jocasta was later rebuilt by the High Evolutionary, but she turned
against him and was destroyed once again. Her head was carried away
by Madame Menace. She was recently rebuilt and destroyed (again),
but her memory was saved by Iron Man and she now resides in the vast
computer complex in Tony Stark's home.
